BBQ Baked Tofu Slices on a Plate

Smoky, crispy and coated in a rich BBQ glaze, this easy baked tofu is perfect for bowls, wraps, salads and meal prep.

Ingredients

  • 2 blocks of tofu (400 g)
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (like canola)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
  • 2 tsp nutritional yeast
  • 1/2 tsp each of garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and smoked paprika
  • 1/4 + 1/8 cup vegan barbecue sauce*

Instructions

  1. Cut both tofu blocks into thin rectangles, about 8 per block of tofu.
  2. In a mixing bowl or on a baking tray lined with baking parchment, mix the tofu with the rest of the ingredients except for the barbecue sauce.
  3. Bake in the oven at 180° C/350° Fahrenheit for about 20 minutes.
  4. Take the tray out and coat the tofu with the barbecue sauce. Return to the oven for an additional 15-20 minutes, flipping the tofu halfway through.
